Langley Crew - Join

2017 Fall Learn to Row Sign Up

Are you interested in discovering rowing or want to prepare for the spring rowing season? Then join us for the Fall Learn to Row Program, which runs September 9, through October 28, 2017. We meet every Saturday at the Sandy Run Boat House at 11:00 am and finish up by 1:30 pm. We have new potential rowers joining our Learn to Row program each week. This is an introductory program is designed to introduce the sport and even attending a couple of sessions would be helpful. We accept walk-on's.

Step 1: FCPS forms
Complete the forms below and upload during online registration.


Step 2: Online Registration and Payment


Step 3: US Rowing Waiver

  • Go to the USRowing membership portal and select "Individual / Join."
  • Enter club name: "Langley Crew Boosters" and club code: "BH9VS."
  • Enroll in Basic Membership (fee $5.75 ) and sign the waiver for 2016 (confirmation will be sent directly to Langley Crew).


Step 4: Swim Test 

  • A swim test is required to fully participate in Learn to Row. For more information see our Swim Test Guidelines.
  • You can independently arrange a swim test with a certified life guard. Upon completion, have the lifeguard and an adult (other than your parent) sign off on the Swim Test Form.

2017-18 Winter Conditioning / Spring Crew Season

Registration is ongoing for Winter Conditioning and Spring Crew (note: the early registration discount ended Nov 10) . There is no cost to participate in Winter Conditioning. However, in order to be eligible to participate, you must register and pay for Spring Crew by following the instructions in Steps 1-3 below. The participation fee is $1,680, payable in 3 monthly installments. Winter conditioning begins 11/16/2017.   (Note: full refunds will be given for any cancellation made in writing, prior to 1/15/2018.)

Step 1: FCPS forms
Complete the forms below, scan (or snap photos) and upload during online registration, or bring to the first day of practice.

          *you do not have to submit again if you turned in for Fall Learn to Row

Step 2: Online Registration and Payment

  • Go to the 2017-18 Crew Season registration. Login or create an account if this is your first time.
  • Register, and upload the forms listed in Step 1.
  • Make electronic payment using credit card or checking account debit.


Step 3: Health Physical and Concussion Training
All items below MUST be completed before an athlete can start Winter Conditioning. There are NO exceptions! These are required once PER SCHOOL YEAR, applicable to ALL sports...if you've completed for another sport, you should already be listed as "Complete" with the Activities Office. If completing after Nov 16, see Nancy Ayoub to obtain a Pink Athletic Pass. You must present this pass to a coach BEFORE  you can start practice.
 

          *The CVS Minute Clinic has qualified health professionals who can perform health physicals.
          *Many doctor's offices will complete the Health Form for a nominal fee if you've had an office visit within one year.   

          *If you experience technical difficulties and are unable to complete the Concussion Training for ATHLETES, you must notify Nancy Ayoub.

Step 4: US Rowing Waiver (Stop! Sign after 1/1/2018)

  • Go to the USRowing membership portal and select "Individual / Join."
  • Enter club name: "Langley Crew Boosters" and club code: "BH9VS."
  • Enroll in/renew membership (there is now a nominal fee for Basic Membership).
  • Sign the waiver for 2018 (confirmation will be sent directly to Langley Crew).


Step 5: Swim Test (complete before the start of on water training 2/20/18)

  • All Novice and new-to-Langley Crew rowers are required to pass a one-time swim test.
  • For more information see our Swim Test Guidelines.
  • If you missed the organized swim test, you can independently arrange a swim test with a certified life guard. Upon completion, have the lifeguard and an adult (other than your parent) sign off on the Swim Test Form.
